Mercury stationed direct December 3rd and turned retrograde December 4th at the very end of Sagittarius- just before it entered into Capricorn. Mercury wasn’t ready to solidify the lessons learned while transiting Sagittarius. Mercury will take the next month to rewind, reflect, and relearn. January 11th 2018 is when these lessons will be solidified; Mercury will enter Capricorn and finally turn ideas into reality.
Mercury retrograde is known for disruptions in travel, communication mistakes, scheduling difficulties, technology malfunctions and the past coming back to ‘haunt’ us. All of these things are more likely during Mercury Retrograde, but that’s not all there is to it.

You don’t have to hide under a rock until December 23rd and the retrograde is over. Mercury retrograde can be an amazing time for reflection and reworking things you’ve put to the side. This specific Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius will be in a trine to Uranus. Uranus can create even more difficulties surrounding technology on a mundane level, but on a personal development level, it can show great strides in communicating with ourselves. Uranus can create an electric environment, and with Mercury turning your thoughts inward, it creates a lot of mental energy that will need to be harnessed effectively.
